African Recycled Clear Aqua Glass Statement Necklace, Inlaid Afghani Lapis Brass Pendant, Tibetan Gold Ethnic Tribal Style Glass Jewelry

by 123gemstones

African recycled clear aqua glass bead statement necklace. This wonderful necklace is made with handmade Ghana glass beads and 2 large ornate Tibetan Repousse brass beads. I used large chunky 18mm clear aqua glass beads handmade by the Krobo tribes-people. The focal is an inlaid Tibetan Nepalese handmade lapis lazuli and howlite brass pendant approximately 80 x 34mm in size. The large Repousse hollow beads are approximately 17x67mm and I finished with 6mm black glass with zinc based alloy gold color spacer beads The length is 18 inches and it is finished with a large Tibetan gold plated "S" clasp. This beautiful ethnic bead necklace has a tribal style to it and will go with anything.

These beads are made by the Krobo Tribe which is located in Ghana, Africa. Powder glass beads are made by crushing glass to a fine powder and heating it so that the particles fuse together. The glass is then poured into clay molds, with a cassava leaf stem used to make the hole. They are baked in an oven and the glass fuses and the cassava stem burns up. This technique has been used in Africa for centuries.
