African Recycled Cobalt Blue Glass Statement Necklace, Inlaid Nepalese Lapis Silver Pendant, Tibetan Silver Ethnic Tribal Style Jewelry

by 123gemstones

African recycled cobalt blue glass bead statement necklace. This stunning necklace is made with handmade Ghana glass beads and Tibetan silver metal beads. I used chunky 14mm blue African glass beads handmade by the Krobo tribes-people. The focal is an inlaid Nepalese handmade lapis lazuli and turquoise Tibetan silver pendant approximately 47 x 54mm in size. I also used Tibetan silver textured spacer beads and 4mm spacer beads on the end. The length is about 17 1/2 inches with a 2 inch extension for a total length of about 19 1/2 inches. It is finished with a large Tibetan silver plated "S" clasp. This tribal style ethnic bead necklace will go with anything.

These beads are made by the Krobo Tribe which is located in Ghana, Africa. Powder glass beads are made by crushing glass to a fine powder and heating it so that the particles fuse together. The glass is then poured into clay molds, with a cassava leaf stem used to make the hole. They are baked in an oven and the glass fuses and the cassava stem burns up. This technique has been used in Africa for centuries.
