Chunky Lapis Lazuli Statement Necklace, Antique Silver Carved Hollow Tibetan Beads, Big Lapis Beaded Jewelry, Large Bead Necklace, Crystals

by 123gemstones

Chunky lapis lazuli statement necklace made with big 20x15x15mm faceted cuboid beads framed with Tibetan silver bead caps. I also used antique silver carved hollow flower spacer beads that are approximately 26mm x 11mm and 8mm blue AB crystal rondelle beads to separate everything and give it some sparkle. This beautiful necklace is so unique and appealing. The length is 19 inches and it is finished with an ornate Tibetan antique silver "S" clasp.

Lapis Lazuli is a luminous, deep blue gemstone, sometimes colored with a hint of violet and gold speckles! It is a powerful stone of wisdom that strengthens a person's expression and intuition, and promotes tranquility. The awareness it imparts aids in accessing ancient knowledge and is also used as a protection stone. In ancient Egypt lapis lazuli was a favorite stone for amulets and ornaments such as scarabs; it was also used by the Assyrians and Babylonians for seals. Lapis jewelry has been found at excavations of the
Predynastic Egyptian site Naqada (3300–3100 BC), and powdered lapis was used as eyeshadow by Cleopatra. At the end of the Middle Ages, lapis lazuli began to be exported to Europe, where it was ground into powder and made into ultramarine, the finest and most expensive of all blue pigments. It was used by the most important artists of the Renaissance and Baroque, including Masaccio, Perugino, Titian and Vermeer.
