Reclaimed Wood Square Succulent Planter Box Centerpiece Planter
To us, making sustainable items is largely about longevity.
Our biggest emphasis is on making things that can be used and enjoyed for a good long time, that the materials used to make them need not be wasted by poor craftsmanship.
We have several different boxes built this way, kicking around the house for our own uses, and they have held up well for years.
We make even these planters to last, from fine grained old growth reclaimed cedar wood. Western red cedar is naturally resistant to decay, so these planters can be planted without a liner.
They are bonded heavily with waterproof non-toxic wood glue (Titebond 3, an impressive product if you would like to learn more) so the joints are strong and reliable.
A second bead of Titebond 3 is applied to all joints on the inside, for a second seal.
Drainage holes are not added by default, as a little gravel is known to do the trick for succulents’ drainage, but we will be happy to drill some holes if you let us know with your order.
All surfaces are nicely sanded, and protected with a penetrating natural wood oil and beeswax finish.
Four black rubber pads are securely screwed and sealed to the bottom to protect the planter and surfaces, and keep the piece from sliding easily.
Because we use reclaimed wood, some pieces will have nail holes or other character marks. If you prefer a smoother appearance with no blemishes, please leave us a message "smooth" at checkout.
