"Sowing the Wild" bastile honey and oatmeal castile handmade soap bars

by CuriositysPiqued

Sowing the Wild--a bastile soap bar made with honey and oats. I've made this soap many times and it comes out looking different every single time. I think it's the honey. The last time I made it, I added a little more honey than I usually do and it came out this super rich brown color you see in the photo and it smells of honey caramel without any added fragrances. Please know that the bar you get will be the same wonderful recipe I always use. It might not be the same color or smell quite the same due to the variability of the natural honey product.

What's a 'bastile' soap? A castile soap is soap made with 100% olive oil. The problem with olive oil is that it makes a soft soap bar that doesn't last very long. By adding a little of another kind of oil, the soap dries harder and lasts longer in the shower. But, it's not 100% olive oil, so we started calling it 'bastile.' My bastile is greater than 90% olive oil and has a bit of castor oil for firmness.

Listing is for one, 3.0 ounce bar of soap.

Please note that the photo provided is representative only. Your soap may be a slightly different color or a different shape depending on which soap mold I wind up using. Rest assured you will get a great bar of soap that weighs at least 3 ounces.
