ORIGINAL STAR WARS Countertop Standee 3-D Movie Display Rare / Extinct? (1982 - CBS FOX Video)

by cyranojones

You are looking at an Original Star Wars Collectible Item.

You shouldn't be running into one of these in someone else's collection anytime soon. I've searched the 'net off and on for several years looking through many dozens of collections for some glimpse of this free-standing display's duplicate - almost to no avail! It was an odyssey trying to dredge up info on its existence and pedigree, but I found that it was issued by CBS Fox Video to video stores in 1982 as an in-store advertisement for the first issue of the Star Wars movie on VHS and Beta tapes.

Understand that this piece has been with me since the mid '80's, so it's not some modern, reproduction knock-off little free-standing "movie poster" you can find for around $10 in a half-million locations around the 'net. The picture pretty well shows the item (additional photos available through link at bottom):

⁃ 3D Foiled design.
⁃ Counter-Top display.
⁃ 14 7/16 inches tall.
⁃ 11 7/8 inches wide (widest part of display).

I have decided to let the collector-buyer seek professional restoration services for these defects:

⁃ The bottom left corner of the "W" is the roughest part of the piece as you can see the bit of crinkle and the separation of the top thick paper from the cardboard base.
⁃ The thick top paper (the foiled subcard) is also separating on the opposite side, at the end of the "S."
⁃ There is some water discoloration on the cardboard back cross-member stand.

As the price indicates, I'm looking for a serious collector who wants a special, unique piece in his or her collection. I will insure the piece appropriate to its price in the shipping.
