Twilight On The Hudson (Homage to Frederic Church)

by Egilpatr

Twilight On The Hudson, Homage to Frederic Church, is my salute to an artist I admire. When Frederic Church painted "Twilight in The Wilderness," he was living on 10th street in Manhattan, and the view he had there was a sunset over Hoboken, New Jersey. He could not say that in his day, too prosaic, so he painted in a wilderness scene from his store of sketches and called it "Twilight In The Wilderness."

My painting is a similar view across the Hudson, but from 12th street, and a bit higher up. I am on the 17th floor. It is my homage to the master. The painting is 30 inches high by 37 inches wide, acrylic on stretched canvas, on heavy duty stretchers, with painted sides. A frame is not necessary.

The painting is signed and dated on the back. I send a letter of provenance which increases the value of the work. All my artwork is copyrighted by Eleanor Gilpatrick. Copyright is nontransferable through the purchase of artwork.
