Somewhere growing up, getting married, raising children and working, I lost myself. It was only in my 50's that I rediscovered my creativity that I lost way back in the 6th grade. Since then, I have been making up for lost time. I am not one of those people who go with a list of items that they want to purchase to make their craft, I am more one of those seat of their pants creator. When you are blessed with lots of interesting and beautiful material at your fingertips, it is easy for me to put things together to make "eye candy". I work with ribbons, feathers, beads, paint and florals to come up with some interesting and sometimes unusual twists on items. My most recent creation is very large bows (1-2' wide), suitable for doors, table decorations, or tree toppers. These are made with designer ribbon, which can cost over over $50 a bolt. I also make ribbon bows to go on hats, children’s hair bows, headbands, and floral decorations. One of the fun things that I do is create headbands and custom small hats, I decorate other hats and I teach hat and headband classes in my workshop about 4 times a year. I love to bring out the creativity in other people. I create beaded jewelry, large statement pieces for necklaces and clip earrings to match but can do pierced, all colors available. Many of these take 8-10 hours to make; they are not for the timid person. I do anything and everything with feathers: hair clips, on hats, headbands, arrangements, add to bows. My floral arrangements are unusual, great for interior doors or for the loved ones in retirement homes or to wrap a special present, a creation to save and pass on. I literally travel all over the world picking up items to incorporate into my crafts and I will have supplies available also. I work at a large wholesale market in ribbons, florals and feathers and will have these up for purchase at discounted prices. I told you my interest were varied, as time permits; I have boxes and boxes of vintage jewelry that I will be putting up on my site but that is in the future. If you are looking for something in particular, email me and I will take pictures. Most of my vintage jewelry is unsigned although I have some beautiful pieces.
