Quilt Barn 6 x 6 Tile with Windblown Pattern
On the hilltops of Appalachia can be seen barns with large quilt designs. Some of these designs originated in the mid 1800's and were directed towards those who were fleeing to the North from possible slavery in the South. The designs provided a message or a direction and were a part of the famous American Underground Railroad. The designs are huge, approximately 8 feet square with bright colors.
This barn can be seen on a hilltop along the northern fringe of Appalachia in Monroe County, Ohio.
This 6x6 tile is of a barn in Monroe County, Ohio with the quilt pattern Windblown painted on it. I was asked to paint pictures of all of the Monroe County Quilt Barns and this
tile is a copy of my painting. The barns are available in magnets and also in prints.
This brightly colored tile is an accent piece that can be displayed on your desk, table, mantle, shelf or used as a coaster. It is heat resistant and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
