"Comparison Is the Thief of Joy" -Theodore Roosevelt
We currently live in a time unlike any other. With the capacity that social networks give us, we are suddenly faced with the ability to see beautiful and carefully curated lives of others around the world. But this can often be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it can inspire us with the absolute beauty that others are bringing into the world, and on the other hand, it can lead us to compare and feel disempowered and jealous.
Traditionally the Hamsa hangs in your home to ward off the evil eye. The evil eye is a curse, most commonly attributed to envy, this is transmitted by a look believed by many cultures to cause injury or bad luck for the person at whom it is directed. It reminds us that envy and comparison are always damaging, both for the person feeling it, and the person receiving it.
This glass incantation can be worn to help you remember to be vigilant around your comparisons as well as to not take on other people’s feelings around your path. It reminds us that our goal as enlightened beings is to feel the joy of the world around us, not get drawdown in lower energies that do not serve us.
Made out of glass and hand-cut and soldered, this piece is one of a kind. It is 3.5” x 2.5” inches with inset Green Apatite and a hanging Quartz crystal. Chain not included.
