“Creativity Scarab” Stained Glass Talisman with Obsidian
by Jodi Sharp
“There is a vitality, a life force, energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.” ― Martha Graham
The Scarab is the ancient sacred Egyptian symbol for creativity. It is very much an appropriate symbol for our creativity and what we need to do and face in the creative process. The scarab is actually a dung beetle. It recycles the waste products of other creatures and uses it to create something new, beautiful and useful. As creatives, we, in essence, do the same. We recycle the past of the existing form of mind and the life we experience around us into a new, more useable form that better serves us and our truth.
This glass conjuration can hang anywhere in your home to help you draw in the energy of creativity. It reminds us that while currently, we may feel like we’re in the muck, we have the capacity to turn anything into something new and beautiful.
Made out of glass and hand-cut and soldered, this piece is one of a kind. It is 8” x 5” inches, is inset with Obsidian, and has an attached chain to be hung from anywhere in your home or sacred space.
