Polar Exploration and Discovery 1943 British Natural History Antique Aquatints

From a 1943 British volume on Polar explorers and their adventures, here are two wonderful prints, both gleaned from Sir John Franklin's 1819-22 'Narrative of a Journey to the Shores of the Polar Sea -

'View of the Arctic Sea from the mouth of the Copper Mine River, Midnight, July, 1821', Colored aquatint

'Interior of a Cree Indian tent', colored aquatint

The heavy 2-sided paper measures 6.25" x 8.75" (16x22 cm). The colors are lovely, cool, and icy on the shore view and the tent interior shows in warm, welcoming colors. The paper shows little tanning along the edges and there are no marks, tears, folds, or creases. Either side will be a beautiful subject to frame or a wonderful addition to your at-the-ready ephemera supply.

You are purchasing an original 1943 paper and it does not have watermarks. I will send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class mail.
