Proserpina Goddess of Spring 1927 Antique Olive Allen Biller Mythology Storybook Lithograph

by PetitPoulailler

'Proserpina Seized the Large Shrub and Pulled'

Big mistake! But little Proserpina doesn't know that shes about to unleash Pluto, god of the underworld ... and winter ... for the first time on the Earth. Her adventures in King Pluto's underworld kingdom can be seen along the lithograph's border.

A charming lithograph by children's book illustrator Olive Allen Biller was gleaned from a 1927 collection of children's poems, stories, fables, and art.

Color-washed in soft Spring-time colors and soft, flowing curves denoting the Art Nouveau period, the work is sweet and simple and remains timeless.

The heavy paper is blank on its reverse, measures 7" x 9.125" (18x23cm), and shows little tanning. The paper is smooth and clean, with no folds, marks, tears, or creases. A charming subject to frame and gift for your new springtime baby or perhaps for that gardening girl you love ... wonderful for your art - tag and card creations, scrap-book page making, collage.

You are purchasing an original 1927 paper and it does not have watermarks. I will send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class Mail.
