Stamp Holder and Air Mail Weight Scale
These were used to make sure your letters going overseas weighed very little because of the cost. This one would have been common during the Vietnam War when mothers and wives were sending correspondence to their sons. They had air mail paper, and envelopes at the time that were very light weight. This would hold a roll of stamps you had to lick and tear apart. The scale would hold the envelope to weigh it. Measures- 4 3/4" X 2 3/8" base 3" high, brass colored on black, Japan on bottom. Note, in order to put stamps in you would unscrew the finial and remove cover of stamp holder, and there is a slot to feed the stamps through.
