This is an uncut birdhouse gourd measuring 17" tall, including feathers, and has a circumference of 27" on the bottom.
The head is meant to represent the Sun. I utilized the technique of pyrography, also known as woodburning, for the eyes and mouth. I used burnt orange ink dye for color and red acrylic paint for the markings. The headdress was kept simple and consists of a single imitation Eagle feather, two duck, and two goose.
The choker was made using an antiqued bone bead as the focal, blue white heart trade beads, and four coyote knuckle bones for the spacers. Strung on artificial sinew.
Black acrylic paint was used on the bottom. Again, I used pyrography to engrave and detail the Eagle. I inlaid four coral cabachons. Also on the wings, white acrylic was used to add the symbol for the Eagles flight pattern, spiraling up, then down. I then added the spiral and the arrows on the breast.
