THIS IS A STOCK PHOTO. MY POTTERY IS HANDMADE AND EVERYONE IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT. I have two of these colours and described the sizes above. If you want a specific one contact me.
To make this toothbrush holder I roll out a slab of clay 7" to 3" wide and about 23" long. Once the clay has firmed I roll it around tubes. Where clay tubes touch each other I brush in clay slip, liquid clay and firmly press them together. Then I put on the bottom. As soon as the clay can hold it the shape I remove the tubes. Clay shrinks when drying and if I don't remove the tubes before the clay shrinks the clay will crack and I have to toss the clay back in my recycle bucket.
Then I put my container on my drying shelf under plastic to dry slowly so my seams stay together. It is then fired in my electric kiln to bisque fire it.
I glaze my pen holders in a variety of glazes then fire them in at a higher temperature in my kiln. It takes several hours to fire it then I let it cool to room temperature for a few days in the kiln.
Ready to ship. I wrap my pottery in bubble wrap, then I pack it tightly in the box surrounding it with Styrofoam peanuts. If possible I use recyclables packing material to save them going into the landfill.
I enjoy making my pottery in my basement studio in central Canada not far from Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes.
