Berserkers ( berserkir in Old Norse ) translate to 'bear shirt'. Berserkers were warrior shamans during the Viking Age who went into battle armor-less and were as crazed dogs or wolves and as strong as bears or bulls. The bit their shields and slew men, while they themselves were harmed by neither fire nor iron. This is called "going berserk".
The Elder Futhark Rune Pertho meaning is unknown and thus carries a mysterious connotation.
Mjölnir (pronounced Miol-neer) is the name of Thor’s (a Norse God) hammer. The hammer gave Thor extensive power and never missed it's mark. Mjölnir was forged by the dwarf, Sindri, in Svartalfheim.
Thor’s hammer served as a weapon of war but was also used as an instrument of blessing in births, weddings, and funerals, too. The symbol can be found on many gravestones up to 1300 AD
