Maple is used in everything from flooring to baseball bats to instruments! Maple’s color can vary from clear whites and creams to light tans and honey. Beyond its use for lumber, the Maple tree’s sap is boiled down to produce maple syrup and is the main tree responsible for the brilliant colors in the fall. The grain is straight and even with little distinction between rings.

I personally have a bowl very similar to this on my desk filled with a couple of my favorite wooden spinning tops because that big domed center brings them all together and they bounce around. Its wonderful fun!
