This bowl came from a tree that was blown over in a storm. No trees were cut down to make this.

Sweet Cherry is also known as European Cherry or Wild Cherry. While Sweet Cherry is a close cousin to the more common Black Cherry, they are distinctly different woods. Sweet Cherry does not grow as large as Black Cherry, so it’s not viable for farming lumber and is a rare sight in furniture or carvings. Sweet Cherry also shows more color variation than Black Cherry, giving each piece a vivid and distinct character. This piece really shows what this tree can do!

Finished with food safe oils and waxes. As this ages the colors will deepen and become even more beautiful
